Tennesse VS Kennesaw St: 31-14
Tennessee junior RB Desean Bishop rushed 29 times for 224 yards and three TDs, powering the Volunteers with punishing carries. His downhill running, decisive cuts and field vision allowed Tennessee to control the clock for long stretches, especially in the second half when sustained drives wore down the opposition.
Sophomore LB Mike Linebacker recorded six tackles and added a key interception that swung momentum, displaying range, physicality and sound coverage instincts. Tennessee opened strong behind Bishop’s long runs and a timely defensive series, but the offense later slowed its pace. A few missed opportunities on offense and occasional defensive lapses kept Kennesaw State closer than the final score might indicate.
Ole Miss Vs LSU: 42-10
Trinidad Chambilss completed a strong performance for Ole Miss, throwing for 245 yards and two touchdown passes as the Rebels dominated top-25 LSU from the opening whistle. The passing attack complemented a powerful ground game, led by junior running back Kewan Lacy, who carried 20 times for 122 yards and a touchdown. Lacy’s efficiency and burst set the tone, while three other Ole Miss rushers also contributed to a balanced, multi-threat rushing attack that kept LSU off-balance all game.
On defense, senior cornerback Antonio Kite paced the unit with eight tackles and two pass deflections, helping stifle LSU’s passing game and limit big plays. The Rebels controlled tempo and field position throughout, and the scoreline reflected a contest that was never really in doubt—Ole Miss handed LSU a decisive top-25 beatdown.
Texas Vs UTSA: 42-52
Arch Manning put up eye-popping numbers through the air — 412 yards and three touchdown passes — but his four interceptions kept the game messy and left plenty of questions for Texas’ defense. The Longhorns got a big day from RB Raleek Brown (15 carries, 131 yards, 1 TD) and WR Cam Coleman (110 yards, 1 TD), while FS Xavier Filsaime led the defense with 11 tackles and a tackle-for-loss. Still, Texas’ defense looked porous at times, giving UTSA too many windows and leaving holes “bigger than Swiss cheese.”
Arch Manning delivered the kind of downfield production Texas needs to win big games, consistently moving the chains and generating chunk plays. His four interceptions, however, neutralized some of that upside and kept the contest closer than it arguably should have been.Xavier Filsaime was active and reliable in the box and deep, piling up tackles and disrupting plays with a tackle-for-loss. His effort was a bright spot.
Overall, though, the Texas defense gave up too many easy plays and failed to sustain stops at key moments. UTSA repeatedly found creases and converted third downs, which kept their offense on the field and Texas’ margins
Senior QB John Mateer — a Heisman hopeful — completed a solid outing, throwing for 240 yards and a touchdown as Oklahoma leaned on a balanced offensive attack to top New Mexico. The Sooners’ running game featured a two-headed backfield that kept the defense off balance: junior RB Xavier Robinson led the ground charge with two rushing touchdowns, while sophomore Tory Blaylock added a score of his own and finished with 90 rushing yards.
On defense, senior Mike LB Kip Lewis anchored the unit, posting nine tackles and two tackles for loss to set the tone. Four other defenders contributed with one sack each, helping pressure the opposing backfield consistently.
Oklahoma’s complementary offense and an opportunistic defense combined for a complete team performance. With Week 4 looming, the Sooners will be looking to tighten execution and build on this momentum for a more stellar showing.
Oklahoma Vs New Mexico: 28-10
Auburn Vs Florida: 21-44
QB Byrum Brown tossed for 225 yards and one touchdown but is still trying to get his feet underneath him. A costly seven interceptions kept Florida’s high-powered offense on the field and allowed them to score at will, swinging momentum repeatedly away from Brown’s team.
Senior RB Jeremiah Cobb was the bright spot on offense, ripping off 169 yards on 18 carries (a 9.4-yard average) with one touchdown. Cobb consistently got positive yards and sustained drives when the running game could take over, showing why he remains a workhorse threat.
Defensively, SO Mike Elijah Melendez led the unit with 17 tackles in a game where time of possession heavily favored Florida. Despite his effort, prolonged stints on the field wore the defense down and made it difficult to stop Florida’s scoring runs.

Team must clean up the turnover problem and find ways to shorten opponent drives to give their defense a chance in future matchups.
